The Green Folder
The Green Folder is an informational guide designed to help faculty, staff and students recognize, respond to and refer students and employees of concern. Individuals may feel alone, isolated and hopeless when faced with academic and life changes. These feelings can easily disrupt academic and work performance or overall functions, which may lead to serious consequences, including dysfunctional coping.

The OSSA Care Team created a SharePoint site for faculty and instructors designed to serve as a centralized location for accessing supportive classroom resources, guides on reporting and supporting students in distress, requesting presentations or trainings, and reviewing FAQs.
Sample Syllabus Statement
The OSSA Care Team encourages faculty to include the following statement in their course syllabi:
Student success at Michigan State University includes more than just academic performance. If you or someone you know needs support, is distressed or exhibits concerning behavior, help by making a referral to the Care Team. The Michigan State University Care Team is committed to improving the safety and well-being of the college community through proactive and supportive interventions. As your instructor, I care about your success and may contact the Care Team to seek support for you. I encourage you to fill out a referral if you or a classmate are in need of help. You may contact the Care Team by filling out a referral at ossa.msu.edu/report.
