Filing a Complaint
Students, faculty, staff and members of the general public may report alleged misconduct by students via our public reporting tool. However, we encourage you to contact us at 517-884-0789 or conduct@msu.edu prior to submitting a report to fully understand the process.
After a complaint is filed, the respondent, meaning the student accused of the behavior, will receive an email at their @msu.edu address. The email will let them know that a complaint has been filed and will invite them to meet with an MSU employee trained to serve as a student conduct meeting officer. During that meeting, the respondent will learn about their rights and responsibilities and review the options available for resolving the complaint.
