Ombudsperson and Student Rights Advocates

Ombudsperson

The Office of the university ombudsperson offers a confidential place to discuss both academic and non-academic concerns including administrative issues, workplace issues or any concern that may relate to Michigan State University.

This office also interprets and explains university policies and procedures and does not serve in any formal University processes or take sides in disputes. For additional information, visit the Office of the University Ombudsperson.

Student Rights Advocates (SRAs)

As a service extended to undergraduate and graduate students through the Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU), Student Rights advocates can advise students in navigating any conduct process adjudicated within the Office of Student Support & Accountability.

Student Rights advocates are trained to interview, prepare and act as counsel for students during university hearings for violations of ordinances and regulations. For more information about Student Rights advocates, call 517-884-1253 or email dsrals@asmsu.msu.edu.
